Momentum

by Patric Coggin / August 07, 2009

In my bones I know - I can feel it - that the United States can be a world power in handball. I’ve seen such momentum started this year, but it is admittedly momentum of a small organization. But even a small wave, joining with other small waves, can turn into something special.

Just this year we’ve seen events such as hundreds of college students in a weekend tournament, high school statewide competitions, long-term high school programs, and a pre-teen league comprised of seven teams compete for a championship.

This year we are finding what niches work. In that department, I think we’ve been very successful. Now the challenge is to find ways to duplicate and replicate across the country, or in other words, finding and creating more of those “small waves.”

We invite you to ride this ever-growing wave. We hope you enjoy, and ask that if you have any available resources or energy, that you become your own small wave. I think you will find that it will synergize with others to create the tsunami that we need to transform our country into the world handball power that we all know and feel the U.S. can be.
