As we get ready for the upcoming season I just wanted to let you know of some of the exciting things that will be happening in the West Region of USA Team Handball.

REGIONAL COMPETITION

Our season will officially begin September 7 and will see the introduction of several new teams to our regional line-up. Denver, Portland, Oregon State, Cal Lutheran, and The Claremont Colleges are all ready to begin play. Several other teams are also close to joining and are recruiting members as we speak. We hope to see teams in Las Vegas, San Diego and several other colleges joining by the end of the year.

TRYOUTS

We are planning several tryouts for both male and female players from 15 to 23 years of age. These tryouts will be the first step in the process to joining our national teams. A tryout is officially scheduled for September 27 at San Diego State University. If you are interested in registering for this event please contact me and I will get you the necessary information. Also in the works are tryouts in conjunction with the Seattle tournament in early November and with the Cal Heat tournament in late January. Check the website for official details of these events to come later.

REFEREES

If you are interested in becoming a locally certified referee please contact me. I will be setting up referee clinics throughout the region this year as needed. First in the works will be Los Angeles in the next few months. If you are interested in attending this clinic and becoming a certified USATH referee please contact me directly.

NATIONAL TEAMS

After a year of tryouts, camps and clinics our national teams are starting to take shape and will be attending events throughout Europe over the coming months. Please check out our website for details and results of these and many other events.
