One Event Membership
by Steve Pastorino / July 16, 2009
We're getting set to launch our 2009-10 membership drive and one new aspect will be a one-event membership. We're following USA Triathlon's lead on this one. It's designed for an individual who wants to participate in a USA Team Handball sanctioned event, but hasn't yet come to the realization that this is sport is addictive and will keep you coming back for more.
Single-event membership will be just $20, and $10 for members under 21 years old. If you like the sport and desire to continue competing, this cost can be applied to a full membership down the road.
In case you missed the Town Hall Meeting at 2009 Nationals, I have announced that we are freezing membership fees for 2009-10 - it will still be $60 for adult members and $30 for those under the age of 21. Additionally, club fees of $200 (and $100 for schools and other youth organizations) will not change.
We're pursuing a new web-based membership and event registration system that will be a dramatic upgrade from the storefront we used last season. We're hoping to launch it within 2-3 weeks or so. Meantime, you're welcome to purchase your membership at the store at www.usateamhandball.org; but our retail partner tacks on a service fee. Feel free to call us at 801-463-2000 to avoid the extra fee.
Any memberships purchase between now and Labor Day will cover not only remaining summer events (Is it almost time for Flanders already?!), but the upcoming season as well.
Our Competition Committee has held numerous calls and should be in a position to announce rules for next season shortly. As always, keep checking this space for more details.
