World Sport Chicago is hosting The Family Sports Festival on Saturday, September 18 from 11:00AM to 6:00PM at Midway Plaisance Park in Chicago, Illinois. It is a free event for children and adults to try different sports, learn about healthy eating, and how to better their daily lives.

USA Team Handball will be part of the action with its own station.  Participants will learn the rules, practice skills, and even get to shoot on goal against some of the best handball players the United States has to offer!

Already love team handball? Talk to the attending USATH officials and make sure they tell you to have the sport installed in your school or club!

Event Overview: The Family Sports Festival is designed to provide a free day of fun and fitness for Chicago children and adults alike - creating not only lasting memories but providing the knowledge, resources, and inspriation needed to build healthy lifestyles and ongoing sports involvement.  Through this event, people will have an opportunity to try diffrent sports and phsyical activities, see what they enjoy and get information about the programs and places in their neighborhood where they can get active.  There will also be an area focuses on healthy eating where people can enjoy nutritional snacks and beverages while learning easy ways to eat better in their daily lives. With entertainment, music, and more the Family Sports Festival is a celebration of sports and health.

Anticipated Attendence: 4,000 people

Professional Sports Teams Involved: Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, CHicago Fire, Chicago Red Stars, and the Chicago Sky.

Youth Sports Organizations, Comunity ORganization, and Non-Profit Organizations: We are working with more than 100 organizations who will be involved in helping provide activities and booths for the festival as well as a year-round community connections and resources.  This event is designed to provide a vehicle for making a lasting impact on the lives of the indivduals who attend, in the community, for sport, and for all the organizations involved.
