Professional German team Bad Schwartau defeated the Americans Friday in the Three Nation Tournament, 41-25.
“The guys played well against a very experienced Bad Schwartau squad, who were playing in their home gym,” said assistant coach Adam Hodges. “(Head coach) Boban was pleased with our performance and is looking forward to the match tomorrow against Ireland.”
Gary Hines earned the “Man of the Match” award after the game; he had two steals and eight goals, several of them “spectacular jump shots,” according to Hodges. Adam Elzoghby had a game-leading 11 goals.
Hodges also reported several Americans who live in Germany have come out to the tournament and are following the team.
