U.S. pair named to IHF's 2009-10 Referee List

U.S. officiating pair Monika Sutton and Gosia Golus-Szubelak was recognized by the International Handball Federation in its IHF Referee List for the 2009-10 season. The Playing Rules and Referees Commission named 79 couples from 50 countries to officiate top competitions; Sutton and Golus-Szubelak were among seven pairs from the Pan American region and the only pair located in the United States.

The two visited Naleczow, Poland, Aug. 28-30 to participate in the Polish Federation Referee Training Program prior to the start of the 2009-10 Polish season. The trip was the result of USATH’s partnership with the Polish Federation and a great honor.

In June, Sutton and Golus-Szubelak officiated at the Pan American Women's Championships in Chile, including the suspenseful final match.
