Molly Augustine looks on during USA's loss to Poland on Tuesday

Norway showed no mercy as the reigning European champs raced to a 59-11 victory over the USA in the first match of the Silesia Cup in Wilkowice, Poland on Friday.

Although 15-year-old goalkeeper Sophie Fasold made an impressive save on Norway's first attack of the game, the Scandinavians attacked in wave after wave, pressing the Americans all over the court until the final seconds of the game.

Jen Haubrich again led USA goalscorers with four. while Fasold and Ernst shared time in goal. USATH coaches felt that the team felt better than in Tuesday's loss against the Polish Senior National team. The USA cut unforced errors in half, handling the ball and connecting passes much more precisely than against Poland.

Next up for the USA is the Czech Republic, which fell 25-22 to Poland on Friday. The USA will play Poland Sunday before the USA players return to their clubs and homes on Monday.
