Nat'l team player learning the nuances in Germany

WEIL AM RHEIN - The popularity of the handball championship booms in Germany in contrast to handball in the United States, a shadowy existence. Only 40 teams exercise this sport in the new world. There are sure strivings to make handball in the United States presentable.

American Jordan Fithian, of Boston, wants to contribute and therefore plays for ESV Weil. In college, he played basketball, and first started playing handball because of his fiancée, Jennifer. "In the United States, only about 40 teams play handball," said 24-year-old Fithian. With his stately height of nearly two meters, he was quickly nominated for the US national team. He came with his future wife to Germany in order to learn the nuances of the game. Jennifer plays in TV Grenzach while Jordan reinforces ESV.
