Modesto Bee: Oakdale High senior on U.S. handball team

Oakdale High senior Devin Holman, a member of the USA Team Handball's under-18 team, is preparing for the Junior World Cup competition this summer. Holman, 17, who lived in Switzerland for nine years and played for the Swiss traveling youth team under dual citizenship, has logged trips to Germany and Iceland since he was selected to the national team last summer. Team handball is a hybrid of soccer, handball and water polo and features six players to a side and goals on each end. Holman is the only team member who's from west of the Rockies.
