The 42nd USA Team Handball National Championships will roar into Las Vegas May 21-23, 2010, at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa. The national tournament is expected to draw thousands of handball athletes and fans from around the United States to compete in the Men's Elite, Men's Open and Women's Elite divisions.
Registration is now open for the competition which will feature more than 60 fast, furious matches at South Point's Exhibition Hall. Competitors range from newcomers to lifelong enthusiasts from U.S. Olympians to professional athletes to students. The 2010 Finals will be shown for the second consecutive year on the United States Olympic Committee website at www.teamusa.org. Last year, New York City Team Handball Club (men) and Chicago Inter Handball Club (women) each won the Elite title for the second consecutive season. Both squads are expected to return in search of back-to-back-to-back titles.
"Since 1968, the National Championships have provided some of our sport's most memorable moments," said USA Team Handball General Manager Steve Pastorino. "Against the backdrop of Las Vegas, we expect 2010 to hit the jackpot with exciting on-court action and a diverse spectrum of participants - all in a family-friendly environment."
