August 16, 2010
USA Team Handbally would like to (belatedly) welcome Timo Krueger to its team as the 22-year-old from Cologne, Germany started his internship in the Chicago office this past week.
Krueger studies Sports, Management, and Communication at the German Sports University in Cologne and the internship is part of his degree's program. He also plays for HSG Rheinbach - Wormersdorf which is in the 3rd division of Germany's handball leagues.
Krueger wishes to improve upon his already stellar English-language ability, marketing and public relation as well as to soak in the unique culture of Chicago and the United States.
He says, "My first week here was really cool. I tried to absorb so many things; maybe too many. I like the city of Chicago. The weather is perfect and it really feels like summer. Moreover, I´m excited about the people here. There are so many different people and cultures. It is very interesting to see. All in all, i have to say that Chicago is becoming my favorite city.
As an experienced team handball player, Krueger has a lot to offer prospective handball players in Chicago.
"It is important for me that the kids have fun. I do a lot of action-packed games with them so they never feel bored. This way, they don´t lose the interest and teaching becomes a lot of fun," says Krueger.
