Gascon wins a bronze medal at the World Cup of Baseball.
USA Team Handball player Sarah Gascon helped the USA win a bronze medal at the 2010 Women's World Cup of Baseball in Venezuela, further underlining handball players' athletic versatility.
Gascon and her teammates defeated host-side Venezuela 15-5 in the bronze medal match, exacting revenge for a round to the South Americans in Round 2 of group play. The United States was defeated by Japan 1-6 in the Semi-Final round.
Gascon, who is capable of playing almost anywhere around the diamond, started at third base for the Americans in the bronze medal game. The Cortland, New York native went 1 for 4 with 2 runs and a hit.
Congratulations Sarah!
