Eighteen Players Selected to Represent the United States at 2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship

With the 2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship set to begin for the U.S. Men's National Team, USA Team Handball today announced the 18 athletes tabbed by head coach Robert Hedin to compete at the tournament.


The United States begins the tournament on Jan. 15 in Oslo, where they will square off against Brazil, Norway, and Portugal in the Preliminary Round.

GOALKEEPERS: Pal Merkovszki (Carbonex-Komlo), Douglas Otterstrom (IFK Tumba)

BACKS: Alexandre Chan Blanco (Club Balonmano Burgos), Benjamin Edwards (Veszprem Handball Academy), Aboubakar Fofana (Valence Handball), Gary Hines (SGL Langenfeld), Ian Hueter (ASV Hamm Westfalen), Tristan Morawski (Sandra SPA Pogon Szczecin), Jonas Stromberg (Lugi HF)

WINGS: Rodrigo Campos (Balonmano Cuatro Valles), Sean Corning (Handbol Sant Joan), Lukas Hansen (Hoj-Elite), Samuel Hoddersen (HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden)

Of the 18 players selected, 11 competed at the last World Championship for the U.S., in 2023, where the squad finished in 20th place. Two years ago, Chan Blanco and Hoddersen led the U.S. offense, scoring 22 and 21 goals, respectively. The Hueter brothers will compete for the United States together, once again, as they did in the 2023 edition of the World Championship.
