Personal
Antonie Baup was born in the south of France in Langon, not far from Bordeaux. One of Antoine’s fondest memories from his childhood was spending the summer months and Thanksgivings with his cousins in Ohio. He joined the Poitiers Pole Espoir Handball school in 2012, and was nominated to the French Youth Team in 2013. He met current USA teammate Abou “boubou” and realized they were both dual citizens for USA and France. Abou urged Baup to tryout for the USA team.
Baup made his USA National Team debut with the Junior Team at the IHF Trophy Cup in 2014, and was quickly chosen for the Senior National Team for the Last Chance Qualifier for the Pan American Games in March of 2015. He then made the move to Germany in 2015, and has played for TV Korschenbroich in the German 3rd division for two years. He currently plays for the Borussia Monchengladbach in the Oberliga while studying International Business and working as an online editor in Cologne.
