Played football, basketball, and baseball growing up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Discovered team handball after a brief stint as a pitcher on the West Point baseball team. Led West Point Black to three consecutive college team handball national championships and competed for the indoor National Team in various competitions from 2009 to 2013. As an Army Special Forces officer, he led Green Beret teams on deployments to Colombia and Afghanistan. He returned to handball after transitioning from the military while earning his MBA at Northwestern Kellogg. He is married and has three brothers. His hobbies include playing and coaching basketball, skiing, and outdoor adventures.

- Led the team in scoring in the IHF Global Tour in Maricá, Brazil with 59 points (9.83 ppg on 77% shooting)
