2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship Provisional Roster Named

USA Team Handball announced today the 28 players named to the provisional roster for the 2025 IHF Men’s Handball World Championship, set to be hosted by Croatia, Denmark, and Norway, from January 14th to February 2nd.

GOALKEEPERS (4): Douglas Otterstrom, Pal Merkovszki, Benjamin Pedersen, Grayson Wide
BACKS (10): Benjamin Briffe, Martin Brunvold, Alexandre Chan Blanco, Csaba Darvas, Benjamin Edwards, Aboubakar Fofana, Gary Hines, Ian Hueter, Tristan Morawski, Jonas Stromberg
WINGS (7): Maximillian Binderis, Rodrigo Campos, Sean Corning, Oliver Edwards, Lukas Hansen, Samuel Hoddersen, Nikolas Zarikos

The staff for the World Championships will be Head Coach Robert Hedin, Assistant Coach Darrick Heath, Team Leader Andreas Hertelt, Performance Analyst Julio Sainz, and Physical Therapist Wesley Spargo.
The final World Championship roster will be announced publicly after the conclusion of the technical meeting on January 15th.
Slotted into Group E alongside Brazil, Norway, and Portugal, the United States will play its Preliminary Round matches at the Unity Arena in Oslo.
This will be the 8th appearance for the American team at the World Championship, last competing at the 2023 edition. In their first match versus Morocco, they made history by winning their first-ever match at the tournament, defeating the African side by a score of 28:27. A victory against Belgium in the final match of the tournament secured a 20th place finish for the United States.
